GAR Academy Live: Workshop on Cross Examination of Damages Experts, hosted by GAR
Join us on 3 June 2026 in London, for GAR Academy Live: Cross‑Examination of Damages Experts, hosted by GAR.
This practical workshop is aimed in particular at younger advocates and less experienced damages experts, offering both groups practical insight into how to be more effective when conducting, and when receiving, cross‑examination.
The programme is structured in two parts.
Part 1 is a masterclass on the cross‑examination of damages experts. It focuses on core questioning techniques, common weaknesses in damages evidence, and how those weaknesses are exposed in practice through effective cross‑examination.
Part 2 is a practical mock cross‑examination built around a realistic scenario. Participants will work in small groups to identify pressure points in the evidence, develop a cross‑examination plan, and see those approaches tested live, followed by a short, focused discussion on what worked and what did not.
The objective is straightforward: to give participants practical tools they can use immediately to improve the way damages evidence is examined and tested in arbitration.

What our members say about GAR Academy
Really excellent—very practical and insightful. The range of experiences shared, especially first-hand ones, was unique and valuable. My colleagues and I found it particularly helpful for understanding psychological aspects. It’s also impressive that it’s led by practitioners, not just academics, and the focus on cross-examinations makes it stand out.
