GAR Awards 2026 highlights

Over 490 guests gathered earlier this year at the Pavillon Gabriel during Paris Arbitration Week for the 16th edition of the GAR Awards - the largest yet.

Highlights included the unveiling of the GAR 30 ranking and the GAR-LCIA Hackathon award winners. 

The evening concluded with a standing ovation as Albert Jan van den Berg accepted the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

The celebration continued with an After Party hosted by Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes, welcoming over 800 guests who danced into the early hours.

Albert Jan van den Berg was celebrated in a film screened at the GAR Awards in Paris, with colleagues and former students celebrating his contributions to Dutch arbitration law, interpretation of the New York Convention and ICCA.

A film screened at the end of the ceremony featured tributes from Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler, Niuscha Bassiri, Jan Paulsson, Teresa Cheng SC and many others.
