Stephen specialises in the resolution of complex disputes. With a focus on construction, energy, and infrastructure, he represents owners, contractors, construction industry professionals, and funders in arbitration and litigation proceedings, both in the Middle East and internationally. He also has a broader commercial practice, advising and representing clients across a range of other industry sectors. Stephen has been based full-time in the Middle East since 2012.

Stephen appears regularly as an advocate, usually as lead or "first chair" in cases that are high-value, technically complex and/or that involve large volumes of evidence. He is used to appearing before and against senior advocates and barristers, including King's Counsel (formerly Queen's Counsel) and Senior Counsel.
