Speaker Bio
Jessica Crow is an independent arbitrator with Arbitra International and an academic at the University of Cambridge. She specialises in commercial disputes in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors, with expertise in public international law and climate and environmental law. Jessica has served as arbitrator and counsel in complex, high-value disputes across energy, renewables, construction, infrastructure, insurance (including political risk insurance), telecommunications, fintech, joint ventures, corporate governance and commercial matters. With 15 years of experience in international commercial and investment arbitration, she has been engaged under most major arbitral institutions and across multiple governing laws and seats. Before taking up full-time practice as an arbitrator, she spent a decade as counsel in Paris and London acting for energy companies, EPC contractors, states and state-owned entities in energy, construction and infrastructure disputes. She was also seconded in-house to Saipem, working within the legal and commercial departments on an onshore and offshore pipeline arbitration and advising more broadly on disputes and contractual matters. At the University of Cambridge, Jessica teaches international dispute resolution, climate law and environmental law, and is a researcher at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law and the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (CEENRG). Her research examines how climate and environmental law are reshaping commercial and investment disputes, with a focus on climate litigation risk, renewable energy regulation, fossil fuel phase-out measures, the interaction of investment protection with the Paris Agreement, and carbon pricing. She is a Fellow in Climate and Nature Governance at the World Economic Forum. She speaks fluent English and French, and is admitted to practice in New York and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
