Racial Equality for Arbitration Lawyers (REAL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in international arbitration and dispute resolution. REAL focuses on addressing systemic racial and ethnic underrepresentation in the field through concrete, measurable initiatives. These include scholarships, fellowships, mentoring programs, paid internships, skills-based training, and global outreach efforts. REAL also engages institutions, law firms, arbitral bodies, and conferences to promote fair representation, inclusive appointment practices, and sustained pipeline development. To date, REAL has supported more than 150 scholars worldwide and works actively to ensure that diversity efforts translate into long-term professional opportunities and structural change.
