Alina is a counsel in Akin’s international arbitration practice. She advises corporates, states and state-owned entities on the resolution of complex, high-value international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations. Her most recent experience includes a number of highly technical construction disputes relating to large energy and infrastructure projects, construction and conversions of floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units, joint operating agreement (JOA) and joint ventures (JV) related disputes, many involving amounts in excess of $1 billion USD. A dual-qualified lawyer (France and England & Wales), who speaks four languages (English, Spanish, Italian and French), Alina has represented clients in both civil-law and common-law jurisdictions, across Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Asia Pacific, under all major arbitration rules. She has also regularly acted before Dispute Adjudication Boards (DABs) and Dispute Review Boards (DRBs) and provided strategic advice on mediations.
