Wendy MacLaughlin is a chartered civil engineer with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry as an engineer, planner, and delay analyst. Prior to undertaking delay analysis work, her design office and site-based roles in the Philippines and Malaysia on power projects exposed her to the realities of day to day project execution and later to the tendering process. As a delay expert, she is pragmatic, cogent, organised, and considers the analysis as a project in itself. She never meant to be a delay expert and was unaware the role existed for the first 11 years of her career. She is passionate about understanding the reasons for delays to the works. She has been cross examined on over 38 occasions in arbitrations and Courts and recognised by her peers and WWL / Lexology as Construction Expert Witness of the Year in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. She looks forward to sharing her experiences on the use of delay evidence for Tribunals and efficient presentation of such evidence.
