Peter Rosher is an international arbitration lawyer who brings decades of deep experience in the construction, energy and infrastructure sectors to serve as a full-time independent arbitrator, based in Paris. Until December 2025, Peter practiced for more than 35 years at major US and UK law firms in London and Paris, culminating in his role as Global Chair of the International Arbitration group at Reed Smith LLP. He has acted as counsel in both institutional and ad hoc proceedings, subject to many different systems of law and under various arbitral rules, including ICC, LCIA, SCC, SIAC, ICSID and UNCITRAL. To the extent possible in large law firms, Peter has also served as presiding, party nominated and sole arbitrator in disputes arising out of complex construction projects. By now operating in a small structure, the conflicts of interests that are so prevalent in large firms for arbitrators can be avoided. Dual qualified to practice in England and Wales and France, Peter has extensive experience in both civil and common law jurisdictions, under a wide variety of laws and cultures, with a particular focus on Africa (both North and sub-saharan), the Middle East, Asia and Eastern and Continental Europe.
