Anna Crevon is a Partner in Dentons Paris office and Global Co-Head of Dentons International Arbitration Group. She focuses on contentious and advisory work for corporate clients, States and State-owned entities on issues of international law, including in investor-State and commercial arbitration proceedings.Anna has worked as counsel on numerous international arbitration cases conducted under the auspices of ICSID, SCC, ICC and LCIA, as well as ad hoc arbitrations. These matters include some of the landmark cases of the past decade and relate to high-value complex multi-jurisdictional disputes involving a wide range of applicable laws and sectors, such as oil & gas, mining, infrastructure, construction, intellectual property and pharmaceuticals.Anna also regularly advises companies and State-owned entities in respect of their investments, in particular in Eastern Europe, the CIS and other emerging markets. Her work also includes advising clients on recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, state immunity issues, compliance with international treaties and customary international law.Anna also serves as an arbitrator and has been appointed as sole arbitrator or co-arbitrator in ICC, SCC and ad hoc proceedings.Experience European investors: Representing in an ICSID arbitration against Ukraine concerning investments in the gas sector in Ukraine (ICSID Case No. ARB/21/15). Government: Advising on the States membership before the IMF and obligations under the IMF Articles of Association. Arbitrator: Co-arbitrator in an SCC case arising from the implementation of a shareholders agreement. Government (South America): Advising on a broad range of issues concerning the interpretation and implementation of international treaties and customary international law principles in relation to State responsibility, extraterritorial application of sanctions, trade disputes, and State immunity. National oil company of a Latin American State: Advising and representing the client in several arbitration and litigation proceedings pending in multiple jurisdictions. Government (Asia): Advising on a broad range of issues concerning the interpretation and implementation of international treaties and customary international law principles in relation to State responsibility and State immunity issues. Investors: Representing in an ICSID arbitration against Romania brought under a bilateral investment treaty (ICSID Case No. ARB/14/29). Arbitrator: Sole arbitrator in an ICC case concerning transfer of know-how. European company and its Ukrainian subsidiary: Representing in an SCC arbitration with a Ukrainian State-owned company concerning investments in the gas sector in Ukraine. Peoples Republic of China: Representing in the first ICSID arbitration of any significance brought against it under a bilateral investment treaty (ICSID Case No. ARB/14/25). The case was dismissed under ICSID Rule 41(5). This is the fastest award in the history of ICSID. Korean company: Representing in an ICC arbitration against a Middle-Eastern State-owned company regarding a tax dispute in the context of a chemical plant EPC project. Arbitrator: Sole arbitrator in an ICC case concerning a construction project in Bulgaria. PAO Gazprom: Representing in a series of SCC arbitrations with Lithuania regarding gas supply to that State. Government: Advising on a UNCITRAL arbitration brought by an Asian company under a bilateral investment treaty in a dispute concerning plain-packaging tobacco legislation. Arbitrator: Co-arbitrator appointed on behalf of the Republic of Uzbekistan in a UNCITRAL arbitration brought against one of its ministries. Italian energy company and its Russian subsidiary: Representing in a series of ICC arbitrations regarding construction of a power plant in Russia. Japanese pharmaceutical company: Representing in an ICC arbitration regarding royalty payments under a worldwide patent license agreement. UEA company: Representing in an ICC arbitration against Burkina Faso regarding a mining project. German energy company and its Romanian subsidiary: Representing in an ICC arbitration regarding the implementation of a privatization agreement. Cyprus company and its Danish shareholder: Representing in an ICC arbitration regarding a shareholders dispute in respect of a French automotive logistics company. French pharmaceutical company: Representing in a PCA-administered arbitration against Poland brought under a bilateral investment treaty and concerning certain marketing authorisations. French construction company: Representing in an ICC arbitration relating to a construction project in Russia. Non-disputing party: Representing in an ICSID arbitration against a Central Asian State. Russian energy company: Representing in an SCC emergency arbitrator proceeding. Cyprus-based energy company: Representing in an SCC arbitration brought under the Energy Charter Treaty against an EU Member State. The majority shareholders of Yukos Oil Company: Acting in a series of PCA-administered arbitrations brought under the Energy Charter Treaty against the Russian Federation. Cyprus-based company: Representing in an LCIA arbitration relating to the execution of a loan agreement. European shipyard company: Representing in an ICC pre-arbitral referee proceeding. North American pharmaceutical company: Representing in an ICC pre-arbitral referee proceeding. American investor: Representing in an ICSID annulment proceeding resulting from a bilateral investment treaty arbitration against the Democratic Republic of Congo (ICSID Case ARB/99/7).
