Winnie is a Senior Counsel of the Hong Kong Bar, and an independent international arbitrator in commercial disputes. Winnie was Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association between 2015-2017 and has been appointed Head of Des Voeux Chambers since 2021. As a leading barrister she is well-established as an intellectual property specialist. Winnie also holds qualifications to practise in the Greater Bay Area of China, Singapore and England and Wales. Winnie served in three successive terms as a Recorder of the Court of First Instance between 2015-2023, High Court HKSAR. She currently serves as a Hong Kong delegate of the ICC Arbitration Commission, and a member of the IBA Taskforce on the use of AI in International Arbitration. Winnie was Co-Chair of HKIAC’s Women-In-Arbitration (WIA). Winnie has substantial experience arbitrating in both English and in Chinese (Putonghua), in cases conducted under rules of institutions including HKIAC, ICC, AAA-ICDR, SIAC, CIETAC and SCIA, and under UNCITRAL rules.
