Felipe is a partner in Akin’s international arbitration practice based in New York, with a particular focus in Latin America and the mining, energy and construction sectors. He represents multinational corporations, investors and sovereign entities in complex cross-border disputes, acting in commercial, investor-state and treaty-based arbitrations seated across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. His practice spans proceedings under major arbitral institutions, including the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution/American Arbitration Association (ICDR/AAA), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and ad hoc rules. Felipe is listed on arbitrator rosters of leading arbitration institutions in key Latin American jurisdictions and regularly speaks and writes on international arbitration, international law and comparative law.
